Psychotherapy // Counselling

Choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming. There are many different approaches to therapy and many different ways of describing the work, which can make it hard to know where to begin or what might feel right for you. While I have particular training and ways of working, I don’t believe therapy is a one-size-fits-all process. I work flexibly and aim to adapt the therapy to what feels most helpful for you at this point in your life. Central to my work is the therapeutic relationship. In my experience, it is the quality of this relationship that most often shapes whether therapy feels meaningful or useful. I aim to offer a space that is calm, consistent, and supportive - where you feel safe, comfortable, and able to speak openly without fear of judgement.I have worked with people across a range of ages and with varied mental health difficulties, both in private practice and across NHS and charity organisations.I am committed to working in an inclusive and culturally sensitive way. This has been shaped by my experiences of living and working across multiple countries and contexts, and by an ongoing awareness that everyone brings a unique background, perspective, and lived experience. I approach all new therapeutic relationships with warmth, sensitivity, and curiosity.
I have an MA in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Adolescents. I also have done training in several other different models such as health and wellbeing coaching and eco-psychotherapy. I am committed to continuing to learn and add tools to my ‘kit’. I usually take a more integrative and relational approach and draw on elements from the different models to best suit the needs of the individual.I am particularly experienced in supporting people through periods of change or transition, including difficulties relating to identity and belonging, loss, relationships, self-esteem, low mood, anxiety, and navigating bias or mental health stigma. However, all clients bring their own story and themes to the work. I feel comfortable meeting you wherever you are at.I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework which provides a set of values and principles to promote the quality of my practice. I keep your data protected and have an up-to-date information governance certification (ICO).

I offer a free 20-minute consultation, which gives us an opportunity to meet and for you to get a sense of whether working together might feel like a good fit. There is no obligation to continue. For the time being, I am only conducting therapy remotely via telephone or online sessions. Appointments are usually at the same time every week and last 50 minutes. Some clients may find biweekly appointments or a more flexible schedule more accessible – this is something we can discuss together. In the first session or two, we would take time to explore what has been bringing you to therapy, any previous experiences of therapy, and what you might be hoping for from the work. While I generally work in a non-directive way, I may ask some more structured or biographical questions early on to help me understand your story. Whether therapy is short- or long-term, I believe it is important to review the work together periodically, to reflect on what feels helpful and what may need to change. The length of the therapy may be dictated by your needs, your time and your budget.
I offer a sliding scale that starts at 75£ per session. If you are able to afford it, I ask that you pay a slightly higher fee so that I am able to offer subsidised rates to those that need them.
